Tru-color paint doesn t adhere. They are very much interested in producing the correct colors for modelers. If anything, a serious impact, scuff or drop of a model might cause the paint to get scraped off down to the spray coat, but that wouldn't happen because the paint is so tightly bonded to the spray coat underneath. The finish i'm getting is very rough, almost like sandpaper. The answer is to use future or some other clear coat to protect the white. With metal, the slower dry time allows the paint to self level and adhere better. I tried scalecoat, but it doesn't keep well once the bottle is opened.

The special qualities of panpastel means that they can be mixed, layered and applied "dry" making them ideal for applying realistic weathering effects quickly. Areas of my grey grout are now brown from foot traffic.
